How it works

Annual pay = hourly rate × hours per week × paid weeks per year. A standard full-time year is 40 × 52 = 2,080 hours, so $25 an hour is $52,000 a year before tax. If you take unpaid weeks off, lower the paid weeks — two unpaid weeks at $25 an hour cost $2,000 a year.
